The STEP-Tech System™

Global Building Systems, Inc. (GBSI) was incorporated in 2002 to patent and comercialize the "Structural Thermal Envelope Panel Technology" - The STEP-Tech System.™ This surprisingly "low-tech" product is a super energy efficient, easily assembled wall and roof structure that is highly resistant to fire, mold, water, termites, rodents and hurricanes.

Product Description. The STEP-Tech System combines two common recycled materials, expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam and galvanized steel studs, to create wall and roof panels bolted to an insulated foundation. The continuous foundation, wall and roof connection results in a true thremal envelope, with little or no air and heat transfer through the roof or walls.STEP-Tech is an engineered system using lightweight steel struts embedded in EPS foam to create interlocking panels for exceptional strength and versatility. Our roof and wall connection creates a continuous thermal break with virtually no air infiltration.

The STEP-Tech System is an engineered, panelized whole wall and roof system fabricated and shipped to the construction site for assembly; 4-6 laborers can put up a 2,000 SF building in one day. Wall panels consist of EPS foam reinforced by galvanized steel stud components engineered to be both strong and energy efficient. Roof panels have thermally isolated galvanized steel "I" beams embedded in full-length structural systems. Channel members are used to integrate the wall system with traditional window and door systems and to mount the panels on insulated concrete foundations.
